Happy Mother's Day!! It's an absolutely gorgeous day here. This springtime weather is the best.
The 2 pieces of jewelry pictured are both made with Carnelian gemstone and 14k goldfilled wire. I recently learned how to do the design pictured in the upper right. It's a technique I learned through one of Eni Oken's tutorials. She is such an inspiration. I love the way the stone is emphasized with the delicate woven net of gold wire to hold it in. It amazes me how tight the fit is in these pieces.
The pendant on the left is called Wire sculpting. There is no soldering involved in this technique. Just straight wire, hands, pliers and wire cutters. That's it! That's what first drew me to it. I wanted to make something that really stood out, but I didn't want to have to solder. The end product is an extremely durable piece of wearable artwork -- each one unique.
Last night I was checking out some of the forums on Etsy. I stumbled on one discussing marketing your jewelry to boutiques and stores where the pieces will fit in. I learned so much and am now looking forward to searching out places that sell local artists' jewelry. I've been thinking about it quite a bit but hated the thought of actually doing it. Now I'm ready to make the plunge! Wish me luck!
Have a great day.
Jules

Hi Heather, so nice to hear from you. I can't believe someone is reading my blog. Glad you like my jewelry. Just came up with a brand new design that is very cool! It's on my etsy site and I'll post a pic on my next blog.

Congrats on getting back to Oregon to a kickass job! Say hey to Zeb. Sorry to hear they're f...ing him around at Home Depot!

Take care and hope to hear from you again!
